Terms & Conditions for text donations
How does making a text donation work?
Supporters should text the CRCC keyword they wish to donate to (detailed below), along with the numerical value for the amount they wish to donate. For example, if you want to donate £20 to our keyword ‘SURVIVORS’, you would text ‘SURVIVORS 20’ to the relevant short code number e.g. 70085.
Our text donation service allows supporters to donate every whole amount ranging from the value of £1 up to £20 (inclusive).
The keyword must be spelt correctly. The value of the donation must be given in numerical digits, rather than spelled out with letters.
The text will cost the supporter the value of the donation plus one standard rate message.
Cambridge Rape Crisis Centre accepts no responsibility for texts sent to the incorrect shortcode or donations failing to come to us due to misspelling of keywords.
Can I make a text donation?
You must be 16 years old or over to send a text donation. You must obtain permission from the bill payer before sending the text message.
What mobile can I send a text donation from?
You can only donate from a UK mobile.
What is the cost of the text donation and how much goes to Cambridge Rape Crisis Centre?
All texts are charged at the amount set out for the relevant keyword below plus one message at your standard network rate (based on your service provider rates).
100% of your text donation will be received by CRCC.
There is no limit on the number of times you may make a donation via text but there is a daily limit of £30 on text donations. You will not be able to donate more by text from the same number on the same day, but you may still incur your standard network message charge if you try.
Will you continue to contact me by text after my donation?
Each time you make a text donation, you will receive a thank you text and then a text giving you the opportunity to Gift Aid your donation. After that, we will not communicate with you via text.

How will the donation appear on my phone bill?
How the transactions appear on your phone bill differs by mobile network provider. Generally, the date and the amount of the donation should appear next to ‘Donr’ or a shortcode. For example, donations using an O2 mobile appear on the bill as ‘70730 – Premium Text’.
Gift Aid
Your donation may be eligible for Gift Aid. You will receive a text after you have donated giving you the opportunity to add Gift Aid to your donation. If we send you a link to a page where you can submit your details then, as with any mobile browsing, you may incur charges from your network provider when visiting that page. If we ask you to text those details, then a standard network message charge (based on your service provider rates) will be incurred.

Cambridge Rape Crisis Centre does not accept any responsibility whatsoever for any technical failure, malfunction, congestion, capacity issues or any other problem with any telephone, telephone network or line, system, server, provider or otherwise which may result in any text being lost, delayed or not properly received and recorded.
Regular giving
We currently don’t offer the option of making a regular donation by text.

Keywords
Below are the current Cambridge Rape Crisis Centre keywords and their associated shortcodes for making text donations. These keywords are live until the closing date shown. If you text after the closing date or if the keyword or shortcode you text are incorrect or you do not correctly follow the instructions in these Terms and Conditions, you will not make a donation to Cambridge Rape Crisis Centre but you may still be charged a message at your standard network rate.
SURVIVORS to 70085 – make a donation of the default donation amount of £5.
SURVIVORS 3 to 70085 – makes a £3 donation
SURVIVORS 5 to 70085 – makes a £5 donation
SURVIVORS 10 to 70085 – makes a £10 donation
SURVIVORS 15 to 70085 – makes a £15 donation
SURVIVORS 20 to 70085 – makes a £20 donation
Our main keyword is SURVIVORS and the shortcode 70085. You can text any whole amount after the keyword SURVIVORS to make a donation of that amount to CRCC. For example, SURVIVORS 4 will make a £4 donation when texted to 70085.
The default donation amount for our SURVIVORS keyword is £5. If you don’t specific any number after the keyword then you will be charged £5 for your donation automatically.
