What we do

Helpline

A listening, support and information service for woman and girls who have experienced sexual violence of any kind, and friends, family or professionals supporting survivors.  We are completely confidential and non-judgemental and will not try to tell a caller what to do but listen to her and support her in making her own decisions. Our line is run by women who have been specially trained to understand the needs of survivors of sexual violence.

We are open to receive calls on Wednesdays from 7pm-9.30pm, Saturdays 3-5.30pm and Sundays 10am-12.30pm.  We have a 24 hour voicemail service when we are not open, and will ring back anyone who leaves their details the next time the helpline is open.  The number on which we return your call is withheld to protect the safety of our callers. Please be aware that if you have an itemised phone bill (a bill which lists every call that you make), our number will appear on it - if this is a problem you can call the Rape Crisis national helpline which is a freephone number so should not appear on your bill.

Our phone number is 01223 245888.

Volunteering

Helpline volunteer training takes place in April and October each year. All volunteers receive support and ongoing training. There are also opportunities to help us with fundraising and occasionally for trustees. Women interested in applying can find out more by emailing us.
